More work is now being done on the state and drivers of general wellbeing of individuals globally. While the numbers such as income distribution, economic growth and unemployment rates are important, they only tell a portion of the story and what affect our overall wellbeing.
Gallup describe themselves as a global analytics and advice firm that helps leaders and organizations solve their most pressing problems. They have produced a number of documents around this subject matter which paint a rather interesting story of the state of globe. What Happiness Today Tells Us About The World Tomorrow is an 18 page report of how adults globally rate their lives.
The results were based on telephone and face-to-face interviews with approximately 1,000 adults in each country, aged 15 and older, conducted throughout the year in 115 countries and regions. They’ve been conducting these surveys for over a decade now. The most recent report found that thriving individuals earned more money, were more educated and considered their working environments to be good. They also reported to be living in racially, ethnically and culturally diverse neighbourhoods.
